June 30, 2010 - Today we got up and had breakfast at our favorite cafe. Tom and I get up quite a bit earlier than the boys so we picked a cafe that we would go to every morning so that when the boys got up they could make their way there for breakfast. We did the same thing in Athens and most mornings, we had breakfast by ourselves!
We set out today to find the "red beach." We were excited to see another beach couldn't imagine what a red beach would be like. We knew this beach was a bit more remote, but we were ready for the adventure. We parked the car and started the walk to the beach. It was like climbing that darn volcano again!!! All of us agreed that it was entirely too much work to go to that beach. We definitely like the beach towns with bathrooms and great places to eat (and a beer while sunbathing!). We looked at it and got back in the car to head to another black beach, Perissia. It was not quite as busy as Kamaria beach, but it was very nice. We found a spot and hung there for the afternoon.
We did a pretty good job at planning our spending money. This was our last night and we did have some extra money to spend. We decided to give each of the boys 50 euros to go spend by themselves without Mom and Dad there. We set up a meeting time to check in with each other. We ran into them a couple of times by accident - they were having a ball! Our final meeting time was at Murphy's bar (Murphy's bar in Greece???!) Tom and Julie did their share of shopping, Tommy spent most of his money and Nicholas still had a few euros left.... he bought his dad a beer!
We drove back to our place to shower. Its our last night of vacation and all of us are bummed. Nicholas can't wait to see the dogs, but other than that none of us are ready to go home.
